Dr. Thomas Pluckhahn will share the historical significance and latest findings from the Safety Harbor Tocobaga Indian archaeological site on Thursday, August 8 at 6:30 pm at the Safety Harbor Public Library. Pluckhahn, the lead archeologist at the at Philippe Park site, has uncovered new artifacts and information on the Tocobaga native town. Dr. Pluckhahn is an assistant professor of the Department of Anthropology at the University of South Florida. His areas of specialization in the field of anthropology among many include Eastern United States Prehistory, Archaeology of Households, and Environmental Anthropology.
